If you don't like the tourist place, if you want to find a place to release your soul and if you can bear the local food, Yintan Dong village is a good place. Yintan Dong village lies in a valley, which on the top of mountains. A brook meanders through the village and divide the village in the middle. The river reflects the sunshine between wood houses and make whole village in shining light.
The river is center of the village, everyday the housewives in Dong costume wash the cloth or do indigo cloth on the banks. If you arrive in autumn you will find that almost all the family hangs indigo cloth with different color on the balcony. It is also very interesting to find a family to stay and make indigo cloth with housewife. As cloth and hand become blue gradually, the soul also melts in the nature gradually.
The wood houses and drum towers are on the bank of the river. They look old and a little broken. The colorful paintings on the drum tower also fade way and look faint. The kids in the indigo clothes climb and chase in the drum tower. The laugh of kids breaks the peace of village and flight a group of birds.
Tips: Yintan Dong village is located on 20km north from Congjiang and on the top of mountain. There are no restaurant and guesthouse in the village. So if you want spend a night there the sleeping bag is very necessary. If you don't like the local food, please take some instant food. In my opinion if we stay here more than one day, maybe we cancook by ourselves and share with the family. There are some interesting festivals like sixth of June (lunar calendar), New Year for Dong (12 days later lunar calendar new year).
